Former journalist and Channel 4 Commissioning editor, Paul Madden has been an independent producer for over 20 years. He has variously produced and/or directed an eclectic range of programming including animation such as Ivor the Invisible (specially written by Raymond Briggs, documentaries such as Reporting Lebanon and Just Like That! (about Tommy Cooper), and a 6-part drama serial Elidor based on Alan Garner’s classic book. He also executive produced multi-award winning animation specials such as Granpa (John Burningham), the Oscar-nominated Famous Fred (Posy Simmonds) and The Bear (Raymond Briggs). He is currently a Trustee of the influential poetry magazine Agenda, and a board member of The South, the literary agency.
