David Almond

David Almond is known worldwide as the author of Skellig, Kit’s Wilderness, Clay and many other novels, stories and plays. His work is translated into thirty languages, and he has won a string of major awards, including the Carnegie Medal, two Whitbreads, two Smarties Prizes and The Michael L Printz Award (USA). His latest book is My Dad’s a Birdman, illustrated by Polly Dunbar. The Savage, illustrated by Dave McKean, is published in April 08. Jackdaw Summer, a novel, will be published in November 08; and an opera of Skellig will be premiered at The Sage Gateshead, also in November 08. He lives with his family in Northumberland.
